John Boyer

Since 2005, John Boyer has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of MAXIMUS Federal Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of MAXIMUS, Inc. MAXIMUS Federal contracts with a broad array of federal and state government agencies (e.g., Health & Human Services, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Social Security Administration, the Department of Justice, and 40 state agencies), providing administrative and health program support services such as independent medical review, healthcare quality and compliance monitoring, facility certification, financial oversight, and case management.

Dr. Boyer joined MAXIMUS in 1995 and has played a critical role in leading and growing the company’s Health Services efforts, bringing nearly 40 years of experience in healthcare delivery including clinical, administrative, and managed care services. He is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the MAXIMUS Charitable Foundation, and he serves on the Boards of several private sector philanthropic, academic, and human services organizations.

Prior to MAXIMUS, Dr. Boyer was Director, Health Services Financing Policy in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs) at the Pentagon. He retired from military service in 1995, after serving in the US Navy Medical Department for 24 years.

He holds a B.S. in Education from Illinois State University, an M.S. in Nursing from New York Medical College, an M.S. in Management from the Naval Postgraduate School and a Ph.D. in Public Administration/Public Policy Analysis from American University.
