Cindy Wakefield is Vice President of Corporate Communications at Tivity Health, Inc. Since joining Tivity Health (formerly Healthways, Inc.) in January 2016, Wakefield developed and executed the external communications strategy for the company’s divestiture of its total population health business, and was responsible for rebranding Healthways Inc. to Tivity Health, Inc. in January, 2017.
Wakefield previously served as Staff Vice President of Communications for Anthem, Inc., where she was the corporate communications lead for Anthem’s two P&L business divisions.
Wakefield has extensive experience in crisis communications and issues management and served as a member of Anthem’s Privacy and Security Advisory Council and the Natural Disaster Response Team, and was named PR News 2011 Crisis Manager of the Year. Wakefield was a member of the lead communications team responsible for the strategy and execution for the response to the January 2015 cyber-attack against Anthem, which impacted approximately 80 million Americans. Earlier in her career, Wakefield held leadership roles for a number of nationally-renown health care providers, including leading media relations for Emory Healthcare in Atlanta. Wakefield earned her degree in public relations from the University of Alabama.
