Health eVillages, in conjunction with Tivity Health and as part of our community outreach program, is a proud supporter/partner of Phoenix-based Foundation for Senior Living (FSL). They recently conducted a breakfast event, and we were thrilled that several Tivity Health colleagues were able to attend. Enjoy hearing from Jenn Sawinski, Provider Relations Liaison with Tivity Health.

On Wednesday, March 29, some Chandler teammates and I had the opportunity to attend the 1st Annual Foundation for Senior Living (FSL) Lunch of Champions at the beautiful Phoenix Country Club. We, Tivity Health and Health eVillages, were the title sponsor and it was a pleasure to sit among current teammates and old colleagues to listen to all the amazing services FSL provides for Arizonans.

It was wonderful to walk into the room and see our new Tivity Health logo scroll on the screen and hear a familiar voice in Marty Manning. Not only is he a long-time voice of radio, but I worked with his wife at my former employer, the Arizona Diamondbacks, so it was great to see her as well as learn that she is working at St. Joe’s Hospital to make a difference. It was touching to hear the representative from St. Joe’s recite the Caregiver prayer.  Since my mom has Lewy Body dementia and is now in hospice, listening to the words made my cry.

The lunch served was a tasty and filling Cobb salad. The desserts were all very appealing and difficult to not eat before the salad. My favorite was the decadent brownie – so scrumptious, and I shared it with my friend and team mate, Teresa Ward.

We were able to watch the heartwarming video that our Multimedia Team put together for FSL. To hear what a difference FSL and our Tivity/Health eVillages sponsorship provides to individuals and families in our AZ communities makes my heart swell with pride.

Did you know that FSL provides over 375,000 pounds of food to families in need with their two food pantries, and they serve over 1,000 meals to Arizonans every day? One of our colleagues and attendees, Sheryl Bratcher, has used their safe home services, in addition to the 1,044 people each night, to make her multi-gen home safer for her mom by having safety bars installed in the shower. FSL has also provided over 345,000 hours of relief for caregivers.

I truly am grateful to work for a company that chooses to be a Best Citizen and contribute to the mission of this foundation that has been caring for Arizonans since I was born. I love that we both believe people should live with honor and dignity. Our Tivity Health/Health eVillages Community Outreach Program made a donation, and each donation pledged by anyone in the room was doubled by FSL.  It was an honor and privilege to be able to attend this event on behalf of Tivity Health, and to see how many lives we enhance due to this partnership.
