Mercy Community Health Care is a federally qualified health center located in Franklin, Tennessee, just 21 miles south of Nashville. While perceived as one of the most affluent areas of Tennessee, it is also one of the most impoverished. Mercy Community Healthcare treats approximately 10,000 patients per year — more than half are children struggling with chronic diseases.
Mercy Community Healthcare believes in a holistic approach to patient care and offers physical, spiritual and behavioral health services to both children and adults. In addition to these services, Mercy works with patients to help provide basic needs - diapers, coordinating payment of electric bills - to financially struggling families, so that they are not forced to forego healthcare.
In 2016, Health eVillages launched its partnership with Mercy by providing 20 tablets to the behavioral health and care coordination departments to assist in their mission in helping to treat the “whole person.” The tablets have been utilized by the behavioral health team to assist in evaluations and during treatment itself.
Tivity Health is a proud partner of Mercy Community Health Care, in tandem with Health eVillages, that focuses on the needs of the older adults within their client population. Tivity Health colleagues volunteer their time at Mercy regularly, with 68 volunteer hours in 2018. They have also contributed to Mercy’s Franklin Classic and their Annual Fall Dinner.
